US blames Israel for attack on Syrian military bases
The United States (US) calls the attack on Syrian military bases and Syrian pro-government militia bases carried out by Israel. The attack took place last weekend in the Albu Kamal region.
"Israel, not the US, is responsible for the air raids that have killed dozens of people near the Syrian-Iraqi border," said a US military source speaking on condition of anonymity.
"The Pentagon will soon" come out "to publicly state that they are not involved in the attack," he continued, as reported by Sputnik on Tuesday (19/6).
Previously proclaimed, Syrian government media say the US coalition has carried out an attack on Syrian government bases in the eastern part of the country.
In a report, the Syrian state media said the attack took place in the al-Harra area, which is southeast of Albu Kamal. However, they did not provide details on the number of victims in this attack.
A similar statement was made by militia groups backing Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. The militia group said the US-led coalition carried out the attack using a drone.
The coalition's command center later stated there were no coalition-led coalition jets conducting military operations in the Deir ez-Zor region, particularly in the Albu Kamal region.
Similar denials were also delivered by the US Defense Ministry or Pentagon. "It was not a US coalition attack," said Pentagon spokesman Adrian Rankine-Galloway.
