Technologically superior products don't always come out on top.

  • ME 262 vs P-51
  • Betamax vs VHS
  • Sega Genesis vs SNES
  • Sega Saturn vs PlayStation
  • Sega Dreamcast vs PS2
  • GameCube vs PS2
  • Firefox vs Chrome
  • IE vs anything
  • Almost any alt-coin vs Bitcoin

You could possibly throw Google+ vs Facebook or Linux vs Windows in there, although those are more subjective.

While technology is important and usually will surface to the top, that can take a long time and many complete failures first. Content, monetization, and marketing play huge factors, especially in something as fickle as websites.

Your opinions of what constitutes "superior" in these cases is subjective.
What you may see as a "flaw" or "not as good" may not be the case to another.

Plus, the superior product DOES come out on top, given that the advertising and promotion was equal.

This was not even close to the case in the examples you've provided.

I appreciate your input though. :)

Some like the play style of SNES > Sega Genesis.
Some people prefer how IE works to say.. firefox or chrome..

Believing that superiority has a set measurable scale is your ignorance. :)

A graphics card could be "superior" to another in SPEC.. but I may like the way the "less superior" graphics card renders things.. There's just no set scale of accurate measurability when the majority of any topic is opinion.

With that said, I was simply kissing the hypothetical steemit "ass" in saying that it's superior.
They both have their positive qualities and negatives. :P

And time-travel will always be superior to aging in place! (Now that's subjective!)
