A development project in coastal waters of French Polynesia is set to be the initial 'stake' for the first seft floating community to function in 2020.
Floating Island Project Floating Island Project is capable of being home to 300 people.

reportedly If all goes according to plan, the pilot project will be ready for testing in 2018 and will be fully functional by 2020. And for years to come Quirk hopes there will be many other floating cities standing above the sea.
