New World Record! Man walks 3000 feet balancing a lawn mower on his chin

It really amazes me that there is a world record for almost anything regardless of how obscure and dumb it is. Well a few days ago a man from Idaho decided that he was going to break the world record for furthest distance traveled with a lawn mower balanced on one's chin for 3257 feet.

Upon further investigation into this man whose name is David Rush and he is from Idaho we find that there is a lot to this guy and this is not the only world record that he currently holds. He actually has broken more than 200 Guinness World Records in his lifetime. This is his second time winning the award for balancing a lawn mower on his chin.

He set the record the first time at 656 feet which someone broke by going 912. I don't know if he took that personally but he set out to put the record more out of reach

Not one to be outdone by a paltry 300 feet David decided that he was going to make the record a bit more unbreakable and beat the person who beat him by more than tripling the distance he traveled.

I can't imagine what drives a person to develop a skill like this but there are certainly worse ways to spend your time I guess. The cool thing about David is that he doesn't do this just to see his name in a book or on a plaque, but in order to raise awareness for a cause.

David isn't showboating for medical research or the usual wearing a ribbon against domestic violence or something like that - not that there is anything wrong with that - instead he travels and encourages children to get involved in STEM which stands for "Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics." David believes what I think that a lot of us already know and that is that studying something that can actually be useful to the world and also benefit you as a person both financially and educationally, is a very important choice for children to make rather that pursuing something stupid that isn't really a career.

Those are my words not his but I think that most people that push for STEM kind of roll their eyes when they hear about how a person with a degree in Egyptology, Sociology, or some other liberal arts thing can't find a job because of course you can't. You studied something that isn't a career.

This news isn't dumb, I think it is actually really cool that someone would not only have a successful career but uses his free time to set rather dumb records in the hopes that it might change the lives of youths for the better. Congratulations on a rather dumb world-record David! I admire you and not just because I can't balance a lawn mower on my chin at all.
