I wrote quite a few times about slimcoin, since I consider it one of the most revolutionary coins out there (unfortunately, flying way under the radar). It's the first cryptocurrency to implement PoB (Proof of Burn) generation algorithm. It's also, AFAIK, the only coin with 3 minting methods: PoB, PoW and PoS.

After a consistent effort of more than half a year, the codebase was finally brought to a new life and it reached a stable version, namely 0.5. I've been playing with it during the last few months and it's really stable. There are GUI wallets for Windows, Mac and Linux and obviously headless clients for all of the above.

Please be aware this is not your regular Pump'nDump coin and it's geared towards a different, probably more selective audience. One of the really interesting features of the latest wallet is, for instance, the possibility of inscribing custom data into the blockchain (using OP_RETURN), like a torrent hash, creating the premises of a truly serverless web.

The volume shown at Coinmarketcap right now it's infinitesimal (until they get more data in), and so is the liquidity at the only exchange who's currently offering Slimcoin, Novaexchange, where it currently trades at 190 satoshi.

There is a fairly active thread on Bitcointalk forums if you want to stay updated.

Nice, I think that more and more people are involved in creating for Slimcoin.
I have translated page for them into polish and make AIO installer of Slimcoin Wallet client for Windows.

Amazing.. Slim coin looks promising...what is proof of burn? never heard of it before....

You mine "with your coins". Basically, you send some coins at a "burning" address, where those coins are destroyed, and in exchange you get mining power. It's a bit mind bending in the beginning, but once you get the hang of it, it's very interesting and dynamic.

Of course, in order to have those initial coins you have to mine them with PoW or to buy them in an exchange.

Thanks for sharing these details... will definitely follow it.

Wow.. this is great information on one under the radar but high value coin currently on the development. Will keep an eye on this one, glad I followed you @dragosroua to find gems of information such as this one. Keep on posting and again thanks for sharing.

Sounds interesting.
