US Officials Point Finger At CIA Contractors Over Wikileaks Release

in #news8 years ago (edited)

The Vault 7 Wikileaks release is making a lot of headlines this week and US officials are now pointing the finger at CIA contractors for a likely breach of security, which they believe ended up with sensitive documents being handed over to Wikileaks. Those documents detail the agencies use of different hacking tools, among other things.

Two anonymous officials claim that there had been notice of the breach since last year. And since the documents have been released, the White House has responded in saying that they are “concerned” about the breach. They aren't looking to be any more transparent than the last administration and they've already uttered threats about holding those accountable under the full extent of the law, whoever is responsible for the leaked information.

Those two anonymous officials believe the documents that were leaked, to be official documents. And they say that companies who have contractors for the CIA, are now checking their data in order to see if any employees etc, had access to the sensitive material that is now being shared all over the internet.

Wikileaks has already claimed that the CIA lost control of the data and they even suggested that it might have been first circulated with former US government hackers and others, before ending up on Wikileaks the way that it did. Thus far, it's alleged that the CIA has declined to comment.

They can assassinate people with microchips in planes? What is the world coming to...

They can indeed do even much worse than that. The general public isn't even aware of 10 percent of what has been made public about the technologies and laws created since around the 2010's.

(Terminator style robots, face transplants to keep dictators alive/hidden and video & sound editing software to create fake testimony or evidence of crime are all already available. No joke.)

Thats insane. What a crazy world we live in today.

Sure is. If we leave aside the risk to democracies around the world for just a minute, just imagine the countries where there's already some dictator in charge.

"Kim Jong Un" for example, could easily end up being artificially kept alive for several generations after his death, which would only be the death of the actual individual whom first bore that name.

-It's probably hard for us to even grasp the level of deification this could lead to in that country, where he is already being seen as sort of a demigod figure. His father Kim Il-sung is already considered the "Eternal leader" of the nation.

(For some examples of what terminator robots looked like in the early 2000's, just google for "darpa robots" or similar and if you dodge some of the most obviously crazy conspiracy theories, there should be a handful of really impressive machines that these days could be run solely on much improved battery power.)

As always, you're proving good stuff.
