Sheriff Charged With Assault After School Video Captures Him Body Slamming 11 Year Old Child
A sheriff's deputy that had been caught on camera slamming an 11 year old boy to the ground, has been charged with assault, child abuse, and fired after footage of the incident surfaced. It's also alleged that he failed to discharge his duties at the school where he had been working in North Carolina.
This sort of incident has happened before and it isn't surprising to find many supporters that will come out on both sides of the aisle, showing support for these actions, or voicing discontent against. What is surprising is the number of people that have frequently been seen supporting this sort of behavior, justifying violence being used against children. But they aren't alone, as there are many more who can be heard speaking out against what they view as unacceptable abuse against a minor.
It was surveillance video that captured the wrongdoing, where the student had been body-slammed to the ground. Thankfully, the child did not have any serious injuries, and this individual has been let go before another might be potentially victimized.
A preliminary investigation has already allegedly been initiated, to investigate this issue.
While it is common for many working in the school system to become frustrated in often having to put up with certain problem behavior from individuals they are serving at the school, those working there should refrain at all costs from resorting to physical violence against minors.
Unless the child is an obvious threat to others in the school, wielding a weapon for example, there is no justification to exert this level of physical force against any child, ever.
If it wasn't for the video footage that captured the incident, who knows how many others might have been harmed if the wrongdoing went overlooked and ignored. Those individuals who have a difficult time controlling their temper and restraining themselves from harming others have no business working near children.

i wonder what lead up to this action. I know there are some pretty horrible 11 year olds with horrible mouths on them, but that dude could have killed that kid. It was excessive that is for sure.
That's insane. I cannot believe that.
People need to learn when they are out in public they are almost certainly being filmed. I think every cop should be required to wear a body cam while on the clock.
