Good News: Lost Hikers Found in Record Time!
I live near Mt. Hood in Oregon and every year there are always one if not a few instances of hikers being lost or missing.
Luckily they still had a phone signal and called for help. A search and rescue group set out on foot while a drone was sent out over the area. In just under two hours the drone had made contact with the lost hikers. This is a great response time for search teams in such a heavily wooded and mountainous area.
I love seeing technology being used like this. I hope they're also using drones in Africa to find poachers.
That's right-on about the drone's.
Resteemed.
Good skiing up there. Was hanging out in Government Camp last year. Glad we didn't need these guys. Have you tried that awesome German restaurant by the Huckleberry Inn?
Well, at least drones have some sort of good use because I know hikers getting lost and remaining that way is a high probability. You'd be surprised how many cases like this pop up all the time and end up unsolved for decades.
