At least 15 jewels were located by the federal agents at the home of the sister of the former first lady of Rio; Couple would have spent $ 11 million on 189 pieces:

The Federal Police seized jewelry from Sérgio Cabral's wife, Adriana Ancelmo, in two addresses linked to her on Friday (23). Currently serving house arrest, the former first lady of Rio de Janeiro is one of the people denounced in Operation Calicute, deploying Lava Jato in Rio.
The searches were carried out by federal agents in the neighborhoods of Ipanema and Jardim Botânico, both in the southern zone of Rio. Adriana Ancelmo's sister apartment, called Nusia Mansur, was one of the sites searched this morning. According to a report by TV Globo, at least 15 jewels were seized at the scene.

In the complaint filed by the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office, it is stated that Sérgio Cabral and Adriana Ancelmo acquired at least 189 jewels in the period from the year 2000. Only 40 pieces had been seized by the Federal Police from search warrants issued to date.
According to the MPF, the purchase of jewelry was made to launder money obtained in illicit practices. About R $ 11 million was spent on the purchase of luxury goods.
In testimony given to the Federal Court late last month, Sérgio Cabral admitted that he bought jewelry from Antônio Bernades jewelry to his wife on festive dates with money coming from 'leftover electoral campaign'.
Cabral denied, however, that Adriana knew of two box schemes orchestrated by him. "We always respect our personalities, I have never interfered in her day-to-day work and she has never interfered in my daily life, I have never received any value from Adriana's office," he said.
Adriana Anselmo is accused of involvement in corruption offenses committed by her husband and others, including using her law firm to receive high amounts of tips. She is being investigated in criminal proceedings of Operation Calicute, as well as Cabral's ex-wife Susana Neves.
