Solar Flares, Crushing Blow to 'Black Hole' Science

Sun had some active regions and the sunspots were trying to cause in trouble. A northern one coming in is looking as a C class possibility. A small coronal mass ejection CME was launched on the outgoing sunspot, but we'll have to wait 8 hours to get the touched up photos back from NASA on that one.

  • 20 years of black hole science is back to the drawing board. Someone keep an eye on Stephen Hawking. Black hole models contradicted by hands-on tests at Sandia’s Z machine Oops, science not settled.

  • ESA is timely on bringing out a water need and usage map over time. I don't think they need anymore rain down in Houston, TX for a while.
  • Hurricane Harvey is shooting for the All-time (records dating to 1950) for tropical wetness. I had to point out that these records are only from the 1950s. Talk about not even being a drop in the ocean of data. Less than 70 years of rain data can't seriously give us an idea of what happens in 100, 500, 1000 or 5000 year cycles. And that's where the man-made global warming models fail. The data they use is only from 1860, late 1970s or early 1980s for temperatures. For other things, they have even less data, they just can't track it well. What they can track, is the Solar System rotation. Well, they can assume to track it. It is possible that the Solar System was still in flux back 10,000 years ago, which explains what ancient people saw and experienced.

A coronal hole is a large region in the corona which is less dense and is cooler than its surrounds. Such holes may appear at any time of the solar cycle but they are most common during the declining phase of the cycle. Coronal holes occur when the Sun's magnetic field is open to interplanetary space. ~ http://www.sws.bom.gov.au/Educational/2/1/5

A coronal mass ejection (or CME) is a giant cloud of solar plasma drenched with magnetic field lines that are blown away from the Sun during strong, long-duration solar flares and filament eruptions. ~ https://www.spaceweatherlive.com/en/help/what-is-a-coronal-mass-ejection-cme

A solar flare is a brief eruption of intense high-energy radiation from the sun's surface, associated with sunspots and causing electromagnetic disturbances on the earth, as with radio frequency communications and power line transmissions. ~ https://www.google.com/
