Earthquake Watch, Sugar and Cancer

The Sun is looking very quiet, nothing to report on the sunspot, solar flare or CME (coronal mass ejection) front. Just nothing going on there. Even the two coronal holes aren't very big.

After a week of geomagnetic storms, the solar wind is dying down, but it won't be for very long.

  • Cancer and sugar. If you have cancer, kill the sugar. If you want to reduce your risk of sugar, cut out sugar. Of course, as is everything, it all depends. Some people get cancer from smoking, some people don't. Some people become alcoholics, most people don't. Does what we eat affect our immune system or ability to fight off addiction? Maybe. Do our genes predispose us for addiction or reaction to certain foods? Most likely. Everything in moderation.

Coronal holes are regions where the sun's corona is dark. These features were discovered when X-ray telescopes were first flown above the Earth's atmosphere to reveal the structure of the corona across the solar disc. Coronal holes are associated with 'open' magnetic field lines and are often found at the sun's poles. ~ https://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/imagegallery/image_feature_2268.html

hi @deanlogic, I'm a 10 year early stage 4 throat cancer survivor. in my support group we 'joke' about pop as 'cancer in a can' because of it's sugar content and it's low pH phosphoric acid that gives pop its fizz.

Cancer cell crave sugar. You may find this article interesting. It talks about using sugar to get cancer cells to light up for MRI scanners.

"The new technique, called ‘glucose chemical exchange saturation transfer’ (glucoCEST), is based on the fact that tumours consume much more glucose (a type of sugar) than normal, healthy tissues in order to sustain their growth."

"Professor Mark Lythgoe, Director of CABI and a senior author on the study, said: “In principle, we can detect cancer using the same sugar content found in half a standard sized chocolate bar. Our research reveals a useful and cost-effective method for imaging cancers using MRI – a standard imaging technology available in many large hospitals.”

All it takes to detect the sugar excited cancer cells using this method is "the same sugar content found in half a standard sized chocolate bar."

I thought you may find this interesting. Here's the link to the article > http://www.ucl.ac.uk/news/news-articles/0713/08072013-Sugar-makes-cancer-light-up-in-MRI-scanners-Lythgoe

The cancer highlighting with sugar is talked about in the video posted.

Congratulations on surviving throat cancer. Sugar and soda is a hard habit to kick.

Im with you man. Everything in moderation is okay. Steak, fries, soda, butter etc... Just dont over do it. Try to fast every once in awhile. I go without lunch sometimes and feel great. Its about listening to your body, not the regulated diet...
