They are reporting a a 3.6 magnitude earthquake near Los Angeles.

Not a big earthquake, but we can't be sure if it isn't a prequake or not. What is intersting is that just a few days ago, people reported seeing strange lights in the sky near Los Angeles.

When I saw the Drudge Report tweet about it, I made my own reply saying it was pre-quake lights. I had heard about this phenomenon before. It is apparently called Earthquake light (EQL).

An earthquake light (EQL) is a luminous aerial phenomenon that reportedly appears in the sky at or near areas of tectonic stress, seismic activity, or volcanic eruptions.[1] Skeptics point out that the phenomenon is poorly understood and many of the reported sightings can be accounted for by mundane explanations ~ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earthquake_light

And while this earthquake wasn't significant, they have happened before big ones like the 2008 Sichuan 8.0 magnitude earthquake and the 7.3 magnitude 2003 Colima earthquake. And some people have claimed that the recent 8.1 magnitude earthquake in Mexico City also had some EQL before the quake happened.

As you can imagine, a 8.0 magnitude earth quake in Los Angeles would be devastation for the city itself and possibly set off the San Andreas Fault line for even more damage.

This is definitely something to keep an eye on.

The Los Angeles area gets a 7 magnitude earthquake about every 7-15 years or so. The biggest being recorded about 111 years ago. It may be overdue for another 7 magnitude or higher.

Pre-earthquake flashes? #PrepperTalk twitter.com/DRUDGE_REPORT/…

Thanks for validating my own tweet. Which I linked to and posted an image of in my article.

What is it, static electricity? It charges the atmosphere or something when the earth vibrates?

Charging of the atmosphere like the aurora. Release of energy.

There are some theories about earthquake lights. Science has not been able to prove that it produces them exactly. But the truth is that numerous sightings have been documented days before major earthquakes in all regions of the world.

Which is why I think that this quake might have just been a pre-quake.

Usually the lights are seen before earthquakes of great magnitudes. Could be.

Wow it's amazing how things around the world work. I can't imagine how hard this would be to prove, but with the existence of social media and so much of this information being "documented" online it's only a matter of time before a possible correlation is seen!

Mexico just got a 7.1 magnitude earth quake. Largest for Puebla since they have been tracking it. I only found articles talking about the lights after the 8.2 one a few days ago.
