North Korea and the Lack of United States Intervention is Strategically Sound

in #news7 years ago

As we speak, North Korea is preparing to launch even more missiles towards Japan. It's not surprising that their behavior is as erratic as it's always been... a country which basically worships a dead ruler as the eternal leader of its nation. But, while the Japanese continue their daily lives in a mixture of apathy, confusion, and at times fear; the United States seemingly ignores what's happening, while closely monitoring the situation. To the average person, this might seem rather careless, but it's actually pretty brilliant.

You see North Korea desperately seeks attention, as nations without any real direction often do. The government of North Korea is seeking validation, and like any attention seeking child, it often doesn't understand how to properly obtain it. This leads the country to lash out against those who don't follow their values in an effort to gain recognition. But, this doesn't always work, and it just leads the country to continue furthering their efforts. The cycle is endless as North Korea remains at odds with the world without any real ground to stand on. Not even China, which is their closest ally likes North Korea, and simply continues to provide them with money for the sake of maintaining the status-quo.

But, while China continues their relationship with North Korea in order to avoid any annoyances from them, The United States seemingly ignores any acts of rebelliousness from North Korea. Why would the United States, a nation known for being highly aggressive and intrusive in their foreign policy continue to act this way? Well, the reason is actually rather simple, as the United States is simply denying North Korea what they desire.

By ignoring North Korea, the United States is demonstrating how insignificant they are in the eyes of the world. Simply because they want to be the bully of the world does not mean they have to be taken seriously. Of course, if something serious would happen, North Korea would be wiped off the map with just a few attacks. It's not like China won't disown them the minute that everything goes completely south. By ignoring them, and simply keeping tabs on the actions of North Korea, the United States became their antithesis. It's actually a rather strategically sound form of intervention, when you stop and think about it.

But, why do they continue to act out? Why does North Korea fail to realize their actions aren't yielding any results, are they crazy? The definition of insanity is after all, trying the same thing repeatedly and expecting a different result. By this definition, then yes the country is insane. But, it's not their fault as North Korea exists nearly separated from reality. It's a sad reality, but North Korea will never win. While it's people starve to death their "wonderful" leader is afflicted with diabetes. While no one gets paid, their government spends nearly their entire gross domestic product on luxuries they can't afford. This downward spiral is not sustainable, and eventually their empire will crumble... either by the natural laws of the world or military intervention. But, one thing is certain, unless they change their ways, the only alternative for North Korea is destruction.
