Poland’s central bank — Narodowy Bank Polski (NFB)— has admitted to paying for social media campaigns that attacked the legitimacy of cryptocurrencies. The bank spent 91,000 zloty ($27,100) on the campaigns, with the money going to Google, Facebook, and a Polish Youtube partner network called Gamellon, Money.pl reports. The news comes after the site published a letter from NFB in which it admits it paid for the anti-crypto campaign.

D.Tube VS Youtube

As I read this my mind wanders to the how could this effect or happen on D.Tube? The answer, it won’t simply because the audience is in control of payouts and upvotes correlate closely to whom makes it onto the trending list. I doubt that at any point it would be worth the investment from a bank to use a steemian to try spread “fud”.

Youtube uses paid advertising from large scale marketers with ads in the video to generate revenue for content creators, curators are not paid. Since curators are not paid there is no emphasis on your upvote or following of a channel. The people consuming the content do nothing other then consume and add data to the algorithm which decides the contents revenue.

D.tube uses Steemit blockchain rewards, no ads, curators decide your payment through upvotes. As a curator you have limitations and value behind your vote which adds emphasis to doing a good job on curation. That also implies with greater curation levels there will also need to be a greater value for content creation. If anyone tried to post a “fud” video here they would be immediately blacklisted, possibly even downvoted by the infamous @berniesanders! (Please don’t Bernie me! I support your efforts)

Conclusion

I am very bullish on our platform here, finding news about how MS platforms have been abused gives me insight into how this system could potentially defeat the problem before it even exsists. The only flaw to the system would be if the “fud” spreader was supported by a massive whale as we see with the @haejin battle that I really have no idea about (I was downvoted for commenting on his post), he’s been plagued with downvotes but as he is backed by a few major whales it barely effected his earnings or hot post listings.

They definitely seem to be afraid of the idea of a public ledger
