Here's the deal #1
Hello! This is edition number one of "Here's the deal", which is kind of newsletter type of post which will include links that I found interesting and some commentary from me on why I did.
I hope you will find something good and interesting in here. That being said, expect a combination of long reads and easy reads usually on pretty complex subjects or at least challenging on some way.
My ultimate goal would be for people to expand on their usual reading subjects and maybe grow an interest to find more of these reads themselves. Thank you!
One of the things that was apparent after the election is just how divided the Us and the world really is. How we are extremely polarized and increasingly against each other. One of the reason is that there is no more a middle-way, the consensus on the FACTS is failing due to our own respective media bubble as curated for us by...Facebook. The "news feed" is feeding us exactly what we want to hear and read and confirms again and again what we feel and think it's right. We are, every day, assured that our worldview is correct and everyone else....well, they are plain wrong and need to be stopped!
It's one of those things that I am hoping Steemit would change if it does become a way to get your news from too. And I really hope it does. Read all the article here
And all this is happening because we are so easily swayed by FEAR. Yes, a lot of rhetoric is about how we are not afraid enough if that is possible. How everything is against us and WE NEED better people out there who would PROTECT US and fear fear fear fear. But why are we so afraid, is what @neilstrauss asks in this Article that I really enjoyed. Hint: it's mostly anxiety and people did not evolve to be anxious but fearful so we kind of blotch the response.
I want to end this on a more funny and uplifting note. This guy tracked down people he photographed 40 years ago and recreated the photos. Really eye opening!
I hope you enjoyed this edition and for more...follow me!

ugh! sorry. mistake noted, will not repeat ;)
Don't stress over it and please post using the tag - the aim is to get more people using it. Just be careful. I don't flag people but there are some people who do so my intention was just to make people aware and save them being flagged. All the best:)
Edit: Also I actually like your post too. I actually forgot to upvote it but I will be following to see what you do next.
