Crypto News Flash #244: Mozilla Firefox Planning To Ban Crypto Mining Malware In Future Releases

in #news6 years ago

Crypto Mining Malware are spreading all over the application stores as well as web browsers. These 'Mining Malware' seeks to use the 'unused' capacity of your Mobile or computer to mine cryptocurrencies in the background which inevitably corrupt the mobile's operating system and slows the device as a whole.

But various companies have disabled these kinds of malware releases on their platform. Apple App Store have already halted their releasing and now Mozilla Firefox is also planning to stop these releases on its browsers as plugins.

Mozilla said that these so called 'mining applications' use computer's power to mine cryptocurrencies while owner is not aware of it. Their device got slows down slowly and inevitably stops working while the developers of these malware earns a lot of money.

So, in order to provide a clean browsing experience, Firefox is going to ban all 'Mining Mawares' in its upcoming releases and thus clearing its browsers.

Some other applications are also using people's computing for variety of wrongdoings.

"For example, some trackers fingerprint users — a technique that allows them to invisibly identify users by their device properties, and which users are unable to control. Other sites have deployed cryptomining scripts that silently mine cryptocurrencies on the user's device. Practices like these make the web a more hostile place to be. Future versions of Firefox will block these practices by default."

If future releases, Mozilla Firefox will be dealing with all these issues and provide us a malware free browser.
