๐ Justin Sun denies the charges, the price of the TRON is dropping
Founder and CEO of Tron, Justin Sun, denied illegal fundraising, supporting transactions related with pornography, gambling and money laundering. We can find those info in a post on the Chinese social platform Weibo published on 23 July.
Chinese media 21st Century Business Herald reported in the article that unspecified sources had informed their reporters that Justin Sun was still in Chinese territory. The site also expresses its concerns about alleged pornographic transactions in its social media Peiwo, fundraising, and gambling.
The article suggests that Sun may not leave the country, which is the real reason why Sun decided today to postpone lunch with Warren Buffett and press conferences until an unspecified date. The article asks a rhetorical question whether Sun will be able to meet Buffett without first resolving the problems mentioned above.
๐ Malta is warning about unlicensed crypto company
Malta's financial regulator has published a public warning that a cryptocurrency company falsely states that it has a license to operate in the country.
In a statement from 23 July, the Malta Financial Supervisory Authority (MFSA) warned residents that they should avoid Emirate Coin Tech, which offers investment options related to cryptocurrency with fake payouts of up to 25%.
Emirate Coin Tech claims to offer different investment tools using a method similar to the Ponzi scheme. The platform's website contains unclear information in strangely written English.
๐ Facebook is struggling with Libra scams
While Facebook is trying to work out its cryptographic project Libra, a wave of fake Libra accounts has appeared on the Internet, including on Facebook itself.
According to the report of The Washington Post, almost a dozen false Libra sites circulate on Facebook and Instagram, claiming to be official coin profiles.
As the report says, a number of fake accounts on Facebook and Instagram were removed on 22 July after The Washington Post reported them to Facebook. Elka Looks, Calibra's communications manager, has said that Facebook is removing advertisements and websites that violate their rules as soon as they hear about them.
Some false Libra ads offered pre-sale of still unreleased Libra coins at a discount, many others contained the Facebook logo, pictures of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, or official Libra marketing materials.
