Scientists catch rare glimpse of an elusive, deep-sea ghost shark

A team of marine biologists found some rare chimaeras AKA ghost sharks. The sharks were found on a rocky seafloor near the Hawaiian Islands as well as near the coast of California.

These sharks normally live near Australia, New Zealand and New Caledonia and have not previously been spotted in the Northern Hemisphere.
