How scientists may have cracked a cure for the COMMON COLD: A simple nasal spray may be the cutting edge solution we have all been waiting for

in #news7 years ago

From Daily Mail:

A vaccine for the common cold has long been one of medicine’s holy grails But as colds are caused by 200 different viruses, the cure has been elusive Now, a research team in London believe they're close to cracking the code

Dressed in a pristine lab coat, the scientist snaps on a pair of surgical gloves and purposefully approaches the young man sitting in front of him.
He puts a quick squirt of spray up the volunteer’s nostril …and his work is done.
Now all there is to do is watch and wait.
It might not sound cutting edge, but it is. For in this slightly shabby Victorian building in Paddington, London, researchers could be on the cusp of a breakthrough.
The innocuous looking liquid being sprayed up the young man’s nose is a potential vaccine to prevent the common cold.

It has been shown to work in mice and rats, stopping them becoming infected with the common cold — and it’s being tested in humans.

A cure for the common cold is one of medicine’s holy grails. It’s something that has eluded scientists for decades, partly because there isn’t just one virus that can cause colds.
In fact, there are around 200, though most colds are caused by three: the rhinovirus, coronavirus and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), which are responsible for 80 per cent of colds.

I'm skeptical when they say 'cure' because the flu shot is only effective if they guess the correct strain for the year. At best the flu shot is 50% effective every year because of different strains effecting different areas of the country and doesn't come without risk of injury or even death. I'd say the effectivity of a vaccine for the cold virus would be much worse given all the different strains. More likely than not it's just another way for big pharma to rake in billions more dollars

vaccines are an archaic science that has been replaced by much more effective methods. these methods are available to any and all with the knowledge to understand them. the electrochemical nature of
biology can be manipulated electrically, neutralizing the ability, of whatever organisms we choose, to
interact with our chemistry. i have been using this for 6 years now. for most of my life, indeed, as long as i can remember, i was always sick or weak. since i have begun this method, i have not had a cold, or a flu.
i have also gotten rid of a lifelong sinus infection that i thought was a normal part of life.

vaccines are for the easily manipulated, to keep them paying. vaccines are, at best, useless, and at worst, well, the information can be found far and wide about their dangers and ineffectiveness. the chemical industry is always "on the cusp of a breakthrough", but just keep stringing us along, with managed care, and never a cure to be seen. the lie is right in front of our face. the fact that a virus mutates is never denied, or the length of time it takes to create an "effective" vaccine, yet still, every season, we are sold the vaccine for the previous mutation.

the proof is in the results, not in appeals to authority, popularity, or to fear. i'll stick with my own method. vaccine believers can keep their vaccines.

The proof is in the results? Let's see a link to those results please. I call it like it see it and on the surface your comment seems like crockpot pseudo-science. I am an open minded skeptic though and welcome actual evidence if you can supply a link I will read it.

ozone therapy is great. i'm still learning about it. it looks, though, like
someone could drink an ebola smoothie and run a mile, if they get properly
administered ozone. i do have an ozone generator, but not a concentrator or regulator, so i'm only using atmospheric concentrations. i find, it is good for pain, and detox. i'm not licensed to say what will work for anyone else, this is all personal.

definitely not for you.

Must be a placebo effect then.

don't worry about it. it's just a crockpot thing.

If your evidence is only good enough for others that have already had a swig of the koolaid and is so embarrassing that you don't want to share it with a skeptic you might want to take a good long look in the mirror before labeling others as "easily manipulated".

i'll share with skeptics, just not with trolls who think they're smarter than they are.
please keep up the ridicule, it's so hilarious. i really do enjoy baiting trolls who think they're the bee's knees and the cat's pajamas all rolled into one.
what does that meme say? oh, that's it, in order for you to insult me, i have to respect your opinion. you couldn't possibly embarrass me.
there is no way i don't come out a winner here. i'm just a crockpot, remember? mmmmm, kool-aid. this is better than baiting @telos. maybe i'll turn it into a post.

"on the surface your comment seems like crockpot pseudo-science."

Actually I didn't call you a crackpot rather I expressed that the ideas you were presenting SEEEMED like crackpot pseudo-science. I was letting you know that my bullshit censor was going off but if you had any truly mind expanding knowledge to share I would be open to reading it.

Let's be real your post was antagonistic from the outset by trying to label anyone that disagrees with you as 'easily manipulated' so spare me your delicate flower routine about being ridiculed. The fact that the word crackpot is such a trigger for you is very telling. It's obviously something you've encountered before and get easily offended over.

Anyways, you going to cough up a link or what?

i'm just enjoying the fact that you were in such a hurry to be right that you misspelled crackpot. go back and check.

i'm probably the least delicate flower with which you'll ever interact. you amuse me, you don't come close to offending me.

i've had plenty of disagreements with people i didn't think were easily manipulated, just not very many pro-vaccinators. i find that it takes a particular dullness of mind to believe the vaccine story for very long.

i definitely, don't share my most useful, life saving knowledge with people who use terms like pseudo-science, so no, no link for you. if you have a smidgen of open minded intelligence, maybe you can
ferret it out for yourself. good luck to you. thank you for assuaging my boredom for a few moments. ta ta.

keep believing what ever makes you feel superior. hold on to that butthurt report, you may need it.

oh stop, my laughing muscles are sore.

We already have the cure for the common cold, see DDr. Linus Pauling "Vitamine C and the Common Cold". This guy was a double nobel prize winner, in a time when this meant something, so you better listen up. Vitamine C is most likely also effective against coronavirus. There exists a book about all this by Dr. Thomas E. Levy "Primal Panacea", I suggest you check out the reviews at Amazon. Medicine is not interested in cheap cures and never was, all they want is an expensive medicine which they can patent and sell.
Another substance which is most likely effective is Vitamine D.
And, probably, Iodine (Lugols Solution).
