in #news7 years ago

After the boom in the legalization of bitcoin as a payment method in Japan, these last days have been loaded with news related to the Japanese decree that states that the transactions with criptomonedas will be exempt from value added tax.

Now in Russia the politicians want to follow the steps of the Japanese country, since several authorities have proposed to the Central Bank of Russia the legal adoption of bitcoin as payment method.

Boris Titov, the Presidential Commissioner for the Rights of Entrepreneurs in the country, formally proposed to the Central Bank of Russia to adopt the model of Japan to legalize the cryptoactive in Russian territory as a form of payment, highlighting the implementation of some measures that support Such as compulsory registration of customers, audits of exchanges by the authorities, customer protection and the decree that transactions with encrypts are free of value added tax.

On the other hand, according to the information source Vesti, several politicians from the Leningrad region sent formal requests to the highest bank in Russia with the aim of legalizing the use of bitcoin in border areas.

Among those authorities may be mentioned Vladimir Petrov, deputy in the Legislative Assembly of Leningrad, who stated through the portal Abc.az that the adoption of said cryptoactive will strengthen the economic and tourist development of Russian districts that delimit with countries in which the Use of bitcoin is more widespread (such as Estonia, a country that shares borders with the Russian districts of Kingiseppsky and Slantsvesky), since its implementation would facilitate the acquisition of products and services by visitors; This because many tourists usually do not have Russian rubles

In addition, Petrov added that visitors from countries using crypto-actives could carry out their economic activities in Russia using bitcoin as payment method if there were exchange points, commercial premises and services that accepted them, which in turn would attract More tourists, all of which would strengthen cross-border trade.

These statements constitute a breakthrough, given that Russia has so far been quite reluctant about cryptones. However, it must be said that it seems increasingly open to the blockchain ecosystem, since even its president has targeted Ethereum.
