This Day In History - And A Lie

in #news6 years ago

Today's highlight in history: March 31, 2005

Terri Schiavo, 41, died at a hospice in Pinellas Park, Florida, 13 days after her feeding tube was removed in a wrenching right-to-die dispute.

In 1990, 26-year-old Terri Schiavo fell into a persistent vegetative state after suffering cardiac arrest. A fierce highly public battle took place between her parents, Robert and Mary Schindler, and her husband, Michael Schiavo, who wanted to disconnect her feeding tube. Terri's husband argued that his wife would not have wanted her life artificially prolonged, with no hope of recovery.
Terri Schiavo's case spurred an emotional nationwide and international heated debate over quality of life, right-to-die and end-of-life issues.
Though the courts sided with Michael Schaivo, the state legislature passed a bill, known as Terri's law, giving Florida Gov. Jeb Bush authority to prevent the removal of the feeding tube. After much back and forth involving state and federal courts, Terri's feeding tube was removed, ending the long legal struggle over her fate - source

Now here is where the lie comes in

I shared this deception with you a year ago, but with the anniversary of Schiavo's death here again, and the liars still going strong, I thought I'd bring it up again

As I have previously shared, while watching a video published by Singularity University's Exponential Medicine youtube channel, I saw a familiar face

Screenshot (590).png

Divya Chander was explaining how this woman was a success case, how "through a lot of neuro rehab" she had "recovered quite a bit" and is "out in the real world again"

The image on the left is from a video of Terri Schiavo, the one on the right is the success case Divya spoke of

They are the same woman

I abhor liars, especially when they lie while actively working to change every aspect of our world in 'exponential' ways

Wow Camille, amazing find. If i remember right this case happened in Florida under both President and Governor Bush, around the time Bill Gates was talking about "death panels". It seemed to me at the time that They were using it to set some important legal precedents.

Thanks very much for your support! Upvoted and resteemed.

Thanks, Steve! Yeah I was pretty shocked when I saw her picture in the video, I was sure I knew that face. Why pick her, of all of the people? It was so public...
