I heard Alan Watt say that when he grew up in the UK, he noticed when he was young that people never progressed and further than where they were. No matter how hard they worked. The nobility stayed where they were and the working class stayed where they were. The common folk were renters and never became owners. Recently I heard Denesh D'souza say that in America the merchant is the top of the society. Not the nobility or priesthood. That means the common person can work to better themselves and actually have hope of achieving. Also common people can own real estate.
