FLORIDA - A teacher who has resigned has had to deal with the police. Jaclyn Truman, 30, is accused of having had sex for two months with a teenage girl.
Truman is allegedly linked to a 15 year old female student last year while serving as a substitute teacher at Hagerty High School in Seminole County, Florida.
"The student told investigators that she had sex with Truman between five and 10 times in a class at the school between March and May 2016," reports ABC WFTV reported Sunday (22/10/2017).
Truman had worked as a sign language teacher at Lake Howell High when the principal at which he was employed was notified of the allegations on October 2.
He is reported to have submitted his resignation five days earlier, which will come into force on Friday. Truman's resignation came to a final on Thursday, not after he was brought to the police.
The former teacher was charged with two counts of immorality against a minor and detained at John E Polk's Prison Facility, Sanford.
Officials said Truman was cooperative during the investigation.
Seminole County Sheriff's Office spokesman Bob Kealing said that the class should be a safe zone for children.
"That's why we're so concerned about this because it's brash, and we're worried there's another potential victim here," he said. []
