Trump takes Remdesivir for Covid and immediately media attacks Remdesivir

in #news4 years ago

Anyone out there starting to notice a pattern here? We've seen this same story happen when he touted hydra-whatever-it-is-called. When the President chose to speak up about a cheap treatment for Covid that many people out there have said that it helped them to recover from Covid and even studies were done to show that it CAN help the media scrambled to find any information that they could in order to make it look completely ineffective. The craziest one that is often cited is the one that took place in a VA hospital with seriously ill and very old patients and they went to such great lengths to try to make Hydra look not just ineffective, but actually damaging.

Now the main stream media and the W.H.O. is doing exactly the same thing with Remdesivir and honestly, I am not surprised at all.

Whether it actually works or not is immaterial for me because that is not the side of things that I am focusing on here. I don't actually care if it works because a few months ago the media was saying that it showed great hope for being an effective treatment and there was already talk about how the manufacturer could be in hot water for what appeared to be price gouging.

Lo' and behold we can fast-forward to today and the usual suspects such as the New York Times, CNN, and Associated Press are publishing articles downplaying its effectiveness or even attempting to say that it makes things worse. Whether this is true or not is for people a lot smarter than me to figure out but doesn't the timing of such a "breaking story" seem a little convenient considering that Trump only a week ago made the public claim that he was taking it (along with other things) and feels great. He also tests negative for the virus and positive for antibodies.

Are any of the President's claims actually true? Well, we'll never know because our media is so fucked that they wouldn't be interested in telling us that even if it was completely undeniable.

Shortly before the President fell ill with Covid (if that was even true) the CDC and other scientific studies concluded the following about Remdesivir: "moderately ill patients on a 5-day course of the drug were 65% more likely to see improvements in their symptoms than were patients who only got the standard of care."

Gilead, the company that manufactures Remdesivir and has the exclusive patent on its sale got some free advertising from Trump's treatment, but given what we all know and hate about the media, it might not be the sort of advertising that the company actually wants. Immediately the wagons started circling and now the W.H.O., who has their own beef with Trump, has released a study that has not been peer-reviewed or gone though a "vigorous testing process" (whatever that means) according to Gilead.

Now is the W.H.O. telling the truth? I think we can conclude quite easily that the media isn't since they will attack literally anything that Trump talks about. I just think it is pathetic that in a random conversation at the Elk's lodge when the news was released about Trump's rapid recovery I said "I bet you a beer that the media goes after Remdisivir next."

And I was correct.

Is there anyone out there that isn't disturbed the the very predictable nature of the media and the various powers that be? How can anyone look at these statements and believe anything they are being told? I don't pretend to understand those (or any other) studies and honestly, other than a cursory glance I don't pay them much mind. It is just disturbing to me that the way the dominoes fall can be pre-determined so easily: Trump says something good about anything and the media goes on a mission to make whatever that thing or person happens to be look awful.

We are never going to make any progress until we can get some level of honesty in regards to this thing and until someone out there stands up with the power to resist this disinformation campaign it is alarming to me how the entire world has been shut down in what to me appears to be the largest fraud ever committed on the world.

I suspect in 100 years this period in time will be looked back on as a truly dismal part of history, where power grabs and lies dominated the global community.

I've said it before but I am going to say it again: I didn't vote for Trump in 2016 and if it wasn't for the constant media attacks on the President I likely wouldn't support him now. It just seems as though there actually is a "swamp" out there and it extends well beyond the White House.
