The seven failed 'satellite calls' that come from the missing submarine in the South Atlantic Ocean have been identified, the Argentine authorities believe.
The crew of the submarine is trying to communicate via satellite, the Defense Ministry said, according to Reuters.
After these signs were detected on Sunday, the Reuters report said that 44 crew members of the missing submarine were expected to return alive again.
The Argentina Ministry of Defense said that those four and 36 seconds of the signal were detected between morning and noon on that day.
A source in the ministry told Reuters that the satellite calls failed due to bad weather.
It was not immediately clear what kind of calls were. However, when a submarine crisis is over in the sea, a guide (EPIRB) floats in a crisis, which is capable of sending the satellite signal. It is not clear whether these kinds of alerts are anything or not.
With the help of a US company specializing in satellite communications, Argentina is working to find out the location of the submarine ARA San Juan, the Ministry of Defense said.
In addition to the search for the missing submarine, the international search mission is conducting rescue operations of the South Atlantic Ocean. But international efforts are being hampered due to the storm winds and about 20 feet high waves.
On Wednesday morning, the German submarine San Juan was in contact with 432 kilometers away from the coast of the Argentine Ocean in the South Atlantic Ocean.
