Kim Cattrall's brother found dead after he went missing

Kim Cattrall's brother, Christopher, has died.

The former Sex and the City actress announced the sad news on Sunday. Over the weekend, Cattrall tweeted that her brother had been missing since last Tuesday, and asked for help in locating his whereabouts.

"It is with great sadness that myself and my family announce the unexpected passing of our son and brother, Chris Cattrall," she tweeted. "At this time we ask for privacy. We want to thank you all on social media for your outpouring of love and support in this trying time."

In her previous Instagram post, Cattrall said Chris had gone missing from his gome in Lacombe, Alberta Canada, with his keys, cell phone and wallet left on the table, and his front door unlocked.

"This is not like Chris," she added. "He would never leave his unlocked home without those items nor his 7 beloved dogs. .... He’s a one of a kind brother. Help us bring him home safe. Please spread the world. Many thanks for reading this. Kim #centralalberta #blackfalds #reddeeralberta."
