The UCI Road Cycling World Championships start Sunday, September 17, in Bergen, Norway, and that means it's time to start hiding your iPad under your desk so you can keep up with the races from work. This year watching World Championships has never been easier, thanks to NBC's extensive cycling coverage. But if you don't have cable, don't fret: It's still possible to livestream the racing action online. (Stay on top of the latest race news by subscribing to our newsletter.)
You won't want to miss the racing all week: The US has two strong contenders in the women's time trial with multi-time track World Champion and Olympic silver medalist Chloe Dygert contesting her first elite Worlds and Amber Neben lining up to defend her title. The road race—set on a course with a hill that will weed out pure sprinters but not all-arounders—favors elite men's contenders including Greg Van Avermaet, reigning champion Peter Sagan, and Greg Matthews as your likely top three favorites. For the women's road race, Marianne Vos is back in fighting form, but American Coryn Rivera can't be overlooked. And for U23 men, Americans will be watching to see if Brandon McNulty will be able to defend his title.

There are a couple ways to catch the event on NBC: on cable, and online via a browser or the app. If you have an extensive cable package, you can watch live on the Olympic Channel. Note that some of the times might seem crazy, but don't forget: Norway is six hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time, so races are actually starting mid-morning there.

If you have a cable subscription that gives you access to NBC's Olympic channel, or a subscription to NBC's Sports Gold pass, you can view races by signing on and streaming live on NBCSports.com, OlympicChannel.com, and on the NBC Sports and Olympic Channel apps. Lastly, you can catch the race with a subscription to NBC Sports Gold’s “Cycling Pass.” Coverage on NBC Sports Gold is commercial-free. The “Cycling Pass,” which gives fans in the US access to more than 25 races from July 2017 through June 2018, can be purchased for $39.99 by visiting NBCSportsGold.com.
