Why does Syria never respond when Israel attacks them?
A lot of answers came by different people on Quora in regards with this question that confuses many. None of them touched the core of the issue and most discuss it from the point of view of 'experts' who watch too much mainstream media and those keyboard warriors.
One can answer and guess whatever they want especially in what pleases them, but for reality there’s always a difference between an aggression and a test fire.
An aggression will be instantly responded to, the Syrian Arab Army units have a mandate to respond to any attack without seeking any approval from higher commands, it’s called Self-Defense, and its incorporated in the main doctrine of the Syrian Armed Forces.
However, when any other country launches a hit and run or individual incidents, however frequent, each incident is dealt with proportionally and properly, not retaliation to is also part of the retaliation if the enemy sets the time and place.
Israel has not been in struggle with armed movements since its last aggressions against Lebanon in 2006, and the games with Hamas and Jihad Islami in Gaza every few months. Unlike the Syrian Arab Army which is continuously fighting since almost 7 years against tens of thousands of very heavily armed, financed, trained suicidal terrorist groups who even have state of the art communication networks not available in many new NATO member armies.
The missiles Israel keep launching, and most are intercepted and tracked down, are to test the different air defense systems Syria has operational. One should look at one of the top targets the so-called ‘Free Syrian Army’ had was the Syrian Air Defense army posts throughout the country, simply because Israel’s only power, just like the US and Saudi, is the air forces and every other thing is too much Hollywood. Israel was able to destroy Lebanese infrastructure using its air force over 33 days in 2006, but once its ground forces moved into South Lebanon they were slaughtered like sheep by Hezbollah fighters alone. Same with Saudis and their adventures in Yemen and same goes to the US forces everywhere they go.
By testing the Syrian defense systems, Israel can get prepared for the new confrontation. Syrians know this very well and as they demonstrated their ability to hide their capabilities since 1973 war experience. Keep the capabilities secret until the miscalculation of the enemy or the calculation of self.
Israel can fire as much as they want of these test missiles, they’re not even hitting any valuable target, yes they are able to kill a couple of Syrian soldiers here or there, that’s part of the price we are paying for the big prize, and their blood will never go in vain, they’ll be revenged for and keeping Israel on its alert 24/7 is more worthy than killing useless Israeli soldiers. Making them pay money is more effective and hurt them much more than killing them, apparently…!
The time of the real war is when herds of Israeli soldiers will be slaughtered in bulk and that’s what really counts.
Any fool can start a war, but as Saudi’s Mohammad Bin Salman and Israel proved to the world the obvious: starting a war doesn't mean you can win it. You can destroy, kill, waste money, but eventually you’ll lose.

That's exactly why we are writing since the very first day. Google tends to bury our contributions being not reliable as something coming from mainstream because it does not fit their agenda of course.

no fly zoneover syria. thats where everyting started going downhill for them. and theres no way back ever again.time to regroup free syrian army in their backup base, in libya.
