Blockchain.info announced the partnership with ShapeShift and added support for Ethereum

Blockchain.info - one of the most popular bitcoin wallets in the world - announced the support of the second largest in terms of the capitalization of the Ethereum (ETH) crypto currency. Simultaneously, the British company entered into a partnership agreement with the platform for instant exchange of ShapeShift crypto currency.

The decision to support Ethereum can in many ways be considered a landmark: previously the company has already stated its adherence to the traditional model, which is headed exclusively by the original chain of bitcoins.

Thanks to the partnership with ShapeShift, users were able to convert BTC to ETH and vice versa directly on the Blockchain.info platform without having to send funds to centralized services.

At the same time, the company made it clear that it will soon introduce updated API tools, and also open its wallet for business users.

Recall, the service began work in 2011, quickly gaining the status of one of the most accessible easy-to-use bitcoin-purses. The number of active users, however, did not always benefit the company: often its servers could not cope with the load.

Whatever it was, Blockchain.info is rightly considered one of the pioneers of the bitcoin industry, and it was thanks to the efforts of the company with the crypto currency that millions of people around the world met.
