Australia loves Saudi Arabia
The Australian government has done nothing to deal with the Saudi Arabian regime’s latest stunt of killing Khashoggi, our main stream media pretends like the Saudi’s are innocent and the Prime Minister along with his colleagues are not ruling out giving more arms to Saudi Arabia. The defense minister stating that negotiations of a weapons deal is not high on the priority list, political bullshit for “we will wait until the public stop looking before giving more weapons to Saudi Arabia”. These weapons go on to kill innocent civilians in Yemen, which was already proven by several different news sites in the United States. The Australian prime minister is a “Pentecostal devotee” where they believe that they can speak in tongues, I wish I was fucking joking, regardless he is a pretty religious guy. I wonder if his religion supports bombing open air markets, schools and hospitals… I really hope not that would mean that it is a way more fucked up religion than I thought.
The Liberal government, of which Scott Morrison is the leader of, wants to become “one of the world’s top 10 arms exporters” globally, now before you go and say “THIS IS GOOD FOR JOBS”, just think about how many more jobs you could amass by opening up new sectors such as renewable energy, recreational marijuana and the legalised, taxed and regulated industry of all drugs, whereby you ditch the ineffective war on drugs. The thing is if more jobs for Australian workers were high on the governments priority list there are numerous ways to do it that doesn’t result in the arming of a brutal dictatorship that LITERALLY beheads people on the street for witchcraft, kills civilians in Yemen and murders journalists in cold blood because they say critical things against the crown. The real reason is because the Australian Liberal party is brought and owned by giant corporations that directly profit from the Saudi prince being a horrible dude, like Lockheed Martin and Raytheon to name a couple of the worst. Unfortunately the Australian government doesn’t give a fuck about transparency so any one can donate whatever they want to a party and they don’t have to disclose who it is from if they don’t want to, which is bullshit and needs to change.
Aid organizations are condemning Australia’s rhetoric on becoming a top arms manufacturer, World Vision Australia chief saying: Should Australia be "exporting death and profiting from bloodshed … Do we really want that to be what people think of when they see the brand 'made in Australia'?". With $200 billion worth of defense contracts going to the military industrial complex over the next 10 years, I really don’t see an end in sight. Our track record of backing the most despicable actors on the world stage is not helping our case either, as I have written about before we fund the Myanmar military junta that is ethnically cleansing the Muslim population in the west of the country, we have supported Israel as they massacre civilians protesting on the Gaza strip, for the occupation of Palestine to stop and finally we allow Rodrigo Duterte to kill not only drug traffickers but drug users too without so much of a mention on the news or a press release.
I want the Liberal government to immediately stop all arms sales to Saudi Arabia and to actually take a genuine stand against the bloodshed, to allow this regime to kill a journalist and then lie about the details about what happened for weeks shows how spineless and unprincipled you are against Human Rights, it sends the message that if you are rich you are above the law. The Greens Party Australia, headed by Richard Di Natale is standing up to this atrocity, the link to that is in my references.
