US-backed commander reportedly defects to the Syrian Army in northern Aleppo
BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:15 P.M.) - A Syriac commander from the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) reportedly defected to the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in northern Aleppo this week.
According to a military communique from Aleppo, the commander Fadi Gabriel left the U.S.-backed group for the Syrian Arab Army after negotiating with the high command in Damascus.
No further details were released regarding this reported defection.
