BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:30 P.M.) - A Turkish investigative team spent about nine hours searching the Saudi Arabian consulate in Istanbul for DNA traces of the missing Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, leaving early Tuesday.

Specialists from anti-terror branch and crime scene investigation units of Istanbul Provincial Security Directorate were part of the investigating team on the case.

Footage from outside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul shows forensic experts leaving the scene.

Khashoggi went to the consulate on October 2 to prepare documents for his upcoming marriage but has not been seen since.

His fiancee claims to have waited outside for 11 hours but says he did not return. So far, Saudi authorities maintain that Khashoggi left the building on the same afternoon as his visit.

Turkish officials allege that Khashoggi was murdered and dismembered in the building by Saudi agents and claim to have found evidence to support these allegations.
