BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:10 P.M.) - The U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) are mass gathering near the Iraqi border to open a new front against the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) in the Deir Ezzor province.

According to reports from Deir Ezzor, the Syrian Democratic Forces have begun amassing troops near the Sousah Desert as they prepare to open this front against the Islamic State terrorist organization.

This latest move by the Syrian Democratic Forces comes as their troops steadily advance inside the Islamic State stronghold of Hajin, which is the last major town under the control of the Islamic State terrorists.

Since launching their Hajin offensive, the Syrian Democratic Forces have managed to capture more than half the town, leaving only the southern districts still under the Islamic State's control.
