Russian spy plane goes down over northwestern Syria
BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:30 P.M.) - A Russian spy plane crashed during a reconnaissance flight in northwestern Syria, today, a Syrian military communique said.
According to the communique, the Russian-made Orlan-10 reconnaissance drone went down over the northern countryside of the Hama Governorate, today, after the aircraft experienced technical problems.
The spy plane reportedly crashed inside the town of Al-Latamnah, which is a stronghold for the Free Syrian Army's (FSA) Jaysh Al-Izza faction.
The Free Syrian Army later recovered the aircraft and posted a photo from the site later in the day (photo above).
