Russian MoD claims HTS has transported chlorine gas to Idlib

BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:30 A.M.) - The Russian Ministry of Defense said on Saturday that the militants from Hay'at Tahrir Al-Sham have delivered chemical weapons to the Idlib Governorate.

“Militants of Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham delivered several containers with chlorine in the settlement of Basankul in Idlib province,” head of Russia's Center for Syrian Reconciliation Lt. Gen. Vladimir Savchenko said on Saturday.

The center urged leaders of the opposition groups to refrain from provocations which undermine the political process, he added.

The Russian Reconciliation Center did not provide information on how they came across this information.

In their past claims, the Russian Reconciliation Center said that local operatives observed the jihadist rebels move chemical weapons to the Idlib Governorate.
