Russian jets strike foreign jihadist bases along Turkish border as Syrian Army gears up for offensive
BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:10 P.M.) - The Russian Aerospace Forces unleashed another flurry of airstrikes over the western region of Idlib, hitting several jihadist targets near the Turkish border.
According to a military source in Damascus, the Russian Aerospace Forces' airstrikes targeted a number of sites belonging to the Turkestan Islamic Party (TIP) near the strategic city of Jisr Al-Shughour tonight.
The airstrikes primarily targeted the bases of the Turkestan Islamic Party that are located around Jisr Al-Shughour and inside the towns of Al-Ghassaniyah, Ishtabraq, and Al-Shughour.
These latest airstrikes by the Russian Aerospace Forces comes just days after it was announced that the Syrian Army would launch a big offensive in the northern Latakia and western Idlib regions.
