Breaking: Senator John McCain has died at age 81
BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:30 A.M.) - U.S. Senator John McCain of Arizona has reportedly died at the age of 81, Saturday, due medical complications associated with his brain cancer.
"Senator John Sidney McCain III died at 4:28 p.m. on August 25, 2018," McCain's office said in the statement.
"With the Senator when he passed were his wife Cindy and their family. At his death, he had served the United States of America faithfully for sixty years," they added.
McCain was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2017 and appeared to be making a recovery after returning to congress later in the year.
