Trump campaign retreats from key claim in Pennsylvania suit
HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - President Donald Trump's campaign is clearing the middle of a series of tribunals seeking to suspend the election results in Pennsylvania, where Democrat Joe Biden beat Trump to take over the country and help win the White House.
Ahead of Tuesday's hearing, Trump's campaign reversed the claim that hundreds of thousands of ballot papers - in and out of the vote - 682,479, in fact - were illegally resolved without the consent of its representatives.
The reduced campaign count, filed in a court of law on Sunday, maintains the goal of protecting Pennsylvania from announcing Biden's victory in the region, and maintains that Democratic voters were treated better than Republican voters.
Trump campaign spokesman Tim Murtaugh stressed that the campaign is still controversial and that hundreds of thousands of votes have not been cast.
"Our case in Pennsylvania is still in the process of producing 225 e-mail e-mails in secret," he said in a tweet.
But he did not explain why the campaign left a petition in court asking the judge to dismiss those votes.
The Associated Press on November 7 called for a bid to run for president in Biden after realizing that the remaining votes counted in Pennsylvania would not allow Mr. Trump to run. Trump has refused to admit it.
The rest of the case in the courts over the non-voting of voters who were given the opportunity to amend the letter-voters would be unsuitable for the profession.
The lawsuit alleges that "Democrat-heavy constituencies" violated the law by seeking letter-voters before Election Day that contained errors - such as missing an "secret envelope" or missing a voter 's signature on an outer envelope - so voters could correct and ensure the voter could read, "cure."
