ESPN Pulled Asian Broadcaster Named Robert Lee Over Similarity to Confederate General’s Name - Estonia Considers Launching an ICO for its Own Cryptocurrency

What's up, everyone!? Here is one story that will have you SMH'ing all over the place and another that might excite you crypto fiends out there. Let's get into it ...

ESPN pulled Asian broadcaster named Robert Lee over Similarity to Confederate General’s Name

This is the type of absurdities that can occur when you bow down to leftist, snowflake hysterics and political correctness.

ESPN pulled an Asian broadcaster named Robert Lee from a University of Virginia football game because they didn't want his name to offend anyone.

"We collectively made the decision with Robert to switch games as the tragic events in Charlottesville were unfolding, simply because of the coincidence of his name,” ESPN officials disclosed in a statement obtained from ESPN spokesman Derek Volner. “In that moment if felt right to all parties.”

OutkickTheCoverage.com’s Clay Travis, who broke the story on Tuesday, wrote:

In a story that seems made for The Onion, but is actually true, according to multiple Outkick fans inside ESPN MSESPN decided to pull an Asian college football announcer named Robert Lee off the William and Mary at University of Virginia college football game because they were concerned that having an ASIAN FOOTBALL ANNOUNCER NAMED ROBERT LEE would be offensive to some viewers.
Did I mention that Robert Lee is Asian?

Robert E. Lee, of course, is the Virginian Civil War general that has come in the crosshairs of the intolerant left who want to see all of the general's memorials come tumbling to the ground because slavery existed in the Confederate south.

Why did ESPN really do this?

It had to be out of fear. When the mainstream media and mainline politicians legitimize the intolerant left's views, which are molded through a cultural Marxist lens, there is no telling who or what will come under fire for being politically incorrect.

This fear is what is so dangerous about legitimizing political correctness, especially that of the cultural Marxist type. It has the ability to freeze dissent and also, as we have seen with this instance, make people bow to the parties worldview - no matter how distorted.

I'm starting to worry that this slime of PC will start sucking in more than just ESPN announcers and Confederate symbolism.

Estonia considers Launching an ICO for its Own Cryptocurrency

Estonia is currently floating the idea of issuing its own ‘estcoins’ cryptocurrency to residents.

Tech Crunch reports:

In a medium post today, Kaspar Korjus, the director of Estonia’s e-Residency program, floated the idea of issuing crypto tokens via an initial coin offering (ICO) to raise money for the nation. Without committing to anything just yet, Korjus outlined what he sees a potential ICO looking like, and said the next step may be a white paper outlining the value of the tokens and what the investment would be used for.
The government already is asking for feedback from the technology world, and Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin is an advisor to the project.
Korjus said that the money raised in the offering could be used for a fund jointly managed by the government and outside private companies. This fund would be used to invest in new technologies for the public sector as well as invest venture capital into Estonian companies founded by both natives and e-Residents. Eventually Korjus sees the tokens holding value and being used as a payment method for public and private services both within the country and globally, which would provide a return on investment to ICO participants.

This will surely make Estonia an early adopter to a digital currency as nations around the globe will no doubt head down this path. The problem with government issued digital currencies is that everything must fly under the law dictated by the ruling establishment, so I would not expect to see much privacy with nation backed cryptos.

While this is a good move for overall cryptocurrency acceptance, is possible this is a move in the overall attempts by governments to go cashless?

A cashless society means a lot more control for the ruling elite. See the incentive here?
