Another Government Shutdown Coming?

US House sets Tuesday to vote on a bill to avoid a government shutdown.

For those who somehow missed it, last month the US government had shut down for three days. This shutdown came to pass due to the Democrats wanting to keep over 700,000 undocumented migrants that are protected under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). An agreement was met after three days to refund the government until February 8th. If the government does shut down it will be the shortest time between shutdowns since 1984. Of course, immigration remains the topic of the arguments.

The No. 2 U.S. Senate Democrat, Dick Durbin, said on Sunday:

I don’t see a government shutdown coming, but I do see a promise by Senator McConnell to finally bring this critical issue that affects the lives of hundreds of thousands of people in America, finally bringing it to a full debate in the Senate,”

Congress is no closer to a deal regarding the 700,000 Dreamers but we'll find out Thursday if they can avoid another shutdown.
