in #news7 years ago

Washington can veto a draft resolution sent by the UN Security Council to the United States on the one-sided decision of Holy Jerusalem. Under such circumstance, the Palestinian Authority could go to the United Nations General Assembly. The Palestinian ambassador to the United Nations, Riyadh Mansur, commented on this. He gave such an indication of a news published on Monday in Arab News daily Arab News .

In context, the Egyptian draft resolution says that the decision to change the status and status of the holy city of Jerusalem will not have any legal effect. Any decision against the UN Security Council resolution will not be effective, and all respect for the resolution of the State Security Council. This draft is delivered to all members of the Security Council on Saturday last Saturday. It is believed that it will be widely supported if it is raised in the Security Council, but the United States can veto it. Earlier on December 6, Trump recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. This caused a storm of protest and condemnation across the globe including Palestine.

Arab News quoted Riyadh Mansur as saying that Egypt and Palestine have been working with members of the Security Council to support the draft proposal. It has been said that Riyad Mansur said that if the proposal is vetoed, Palestinians will send a letter to the secretary general of the United Nations urging the emergency session.

On behalf of the United Kingdom and France, it has been said yesterday that if Egypt's proposal is taken to the Security Council, they will vote for it. The British ambassador to the United Nations, Matthew Rechrift, told reporters that the draft Security Council was on the way to the previous draft.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu lauded the recognition of US President Donald Trump again on Jerusalem.

The Israeli attacks continued

The Israeli army said that the attack was carried out in response to a rocket attack launched from the Palestinian territories. After recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital, the Palestinian militant group Hamas rocket attacks have increased.

According to the Israeli army, a rocket attack was conducted on Sunday night and on Monday morning. In response, air strikes targeted Hamas' training camps. No party has claimed the casualties in the attack.
