Dying Cancer Man Finally Fights Monsanto in Court in Roundup Case; Hundreds More Waiting

in #news6 years ago

Finally, we have a trial against Monsanto's infamous weedkiller, Roundup. The only reason this particular case has not been stalled (like all the others waiting in line) is that the plaintiff has terminal cancer and the prognosis is that he does not have long to live.

So this sick, dying man is thrust into the spotlight against the inhuman behemoth that is Monsanto.

It has taken over 40 years for any such trial to come to court. In 2015, it is estimated that Monsanto made a gross profit of nearly $1.9 billion from glyphosate products.

To see why it is so hard to use the legal system to obtain any redress regarding corporate crimes against humanity, firstly look at the documentation at Monsanto Relied on These “Partners” to Attack Top Cancer Scientists, thanks to USRTK.

This is how propaganda is made. This is how fake narratives are developed and spread, until a diluted, digested version is brought to your favourite mainstream news site.

This is how the likes of Monsanto "inform/inoculate/engage industry partners". This is how the Orwellian Scispeak is developed so that Monsanto can claim its "education" is backed by "science-based studies versus agenda-driven hypotheses” when the reality is completely the other way round.

"Inoculation" is an interesting term when discussing the protocols of propaganda. When the virus of truth comes knocking at the brains of these "partners", they will have been trained to repel the invading ideas by the shield of Monsanto propaganda. Better still, a small transfer of wealth usually eases any doubts, but propaganda is vitally important as it can stop an individual from having a human conscience suddenly break through and shatter the well-crafted fake narrative.

This is even more important for the general population, who are not the recipients of any corporate largesse.

Now, regarding the trial itself, the good folks at USRTK have a whole page crammed with documents and articles: The Monsanto Papers: Roundup (Glyphosate) Cancer Case Key Documents & Analysis.

I know, TLDR, maybe I should make vlogs instead. Anyway, near the top of the column on Reporting & Analysis, I find this: The Monsanto Papers: Poisoning the Scientific Well.

To quote:

"RESULTS: The documents reveal Monsanto-sponsored ghostwriting of articles published in toxicology journals and the lay media, interference in the peer review process, behind-the-scenes influence on retraction and the creation of a so-called academic website as a front for the defense of Monsanto products.

CONCLUSION: The use of third-party academics in the corporate defense of glyhphosate reveals that this practice extends beyond the corruption of medicine and persists in spite of efforts to enforce transparency in industry manipulation."

Now, if you've descended this far, and are feeling slightly sick... I'm afraid this goes deeper.

Weed-Whacking Herbicide Proves Deadly to Human Cells is a 2009 Scientific American article that looks at the research into the so-called inert substances in the Roundup formula. Although glyphosate is considered the active ingredient in Roundup, the product includes many other chemicals. "Scientists found that Roundup’s inert ingredients amplified the toxic effect on human cells — even at concentrations much more diluted than those used on farms and lawns. [...] One specific inert ingredient, polyethoxylated tallowamine, or POEA, was more deadly to human embryonic, placental and umbilical cord cells than the herbicide itself – a finding the researchers call “astonishing.”"

What is not astonishing is the subsequent stone-walling and obfuscation by Monsanto's office of propaganda. How do they continue to get away with it? A mixture of public ignorance, money and physical threats.

So... how much Roundup do you use?

The sooner Monsanto (and anyone else pushing the same chemicals) goes down the better! My aunt died of cancer - likely caused by the sprays they applied to their fruit trees every year (they lived in California). It makes me very angry to think that a giant company caused it - and continues to cause problems for others!
Thanks for sharing this important news piece!

Sorry to hear it, but the internet is precisely the place to write about personal cases. Most people glaze over about the science and the law and the inhumanity of these corporate psychopaths. But personal stories can make a difference.

You still live in the same area? So you're still being poisoned?

My aunt is the only part of our immediate family who lived in California for long, but my mother also worries about her other sister - living in coastal Oregon - who shows signs of Parkinson's - though she only kept a small household garden and a couple of old apple trees. We tend to feel that these tremors are related to Monsanto products that are so hard to avoid.
I have lived in many other places since living in Oregon. My personal poisoning came from six years of weekly allergy shots.

We must fight them the best way we can; the trouble is that there are so many of them to fight all over the world, and all of them have been enabled by our very own governments...

mmm... glyphosate is non-flammable, but...
