The transition from nation-states to crypto-states, a psychiatric perspective

The nation-state was also an extension of the brain. Human identities have been optimized for the nation-state as a form of “external brain” (1). Now with the web 3.0, there is a transition where we re-optimize to instead use the web as an external cognition.

This is rooted in how executive function in the frontal lobe runs on memes and emotions, and so, decision making is not an isolated process, but a social process. (2)

Today there is a lot of digiphrenia because people have begun to outsource parts of their cognition to the web, while they still maintain nation-state identities, and that is an impossible situation, and so I believe in teaching people about the Exocortex to make them self-aware.
