New Born Guinea Pigs On The Homstead

in #newlife6 years ago

Recently we have been having a lot of baby guinea pigs. I think just this week we have had about twelve of them so there are lots more than you see in the picture. You may be wondering what do you use them for? There are two reasons why we have them. The first reason is fertilizer. The poop makes very good fertilizer for the plants. The second reason is we can sell them in the market. People around here eat guinea pig and so we raise them and get the poop until they are old enough to sell. But we do not eat them we just sell
them. SAM_8055.JPG

howdy this fine Tuesday @ecuadorhomestead! hey you guys have a great strategy and plan, did you spend years planning all of this before you moved?
and how big do those guinea pigs get?

No, we did not plan this. It may seem like we have a great life, but there are other thing you do not see.

well it looks to me like a very HARD life, that's what I see, endless work to keep all the plants and animals healthy and crops growing, but you had to have SOME kind of plan before you got started didn't you?

Interesting reasons to be raising guinea pigs!! Thanks for sharing the post and the pics. I'm guessing you don't get too attached to them. ;)

No, we do not get attached to them. We just look at them as farm animals.
