Rarely has any author of children's literature remembered the child in herself as completely as this one. This work is yet another demonstration, as well, of a artistry that is not acquired but flows from within, like youth itself. Perhaps even more remarkable is that these delightful adventures are as total an experience to the ear as to the eye. I've read them aloud to an audience ranging in age from 7 to 73 and this is not an easy house to play. It's also why this book and this author got five stars from us. Nice going, Ms Dovetail.
