RE: Achievement 6 Task by @msharif: Understanding Curation and Community

in Newcomers' Community5 years ago

Hi @msharif,

Steem blog requires a number of people to create and maintain a blog,There are 20 full-time witnesses, producing a block every 63-second round.

It's Steem Blockchain. Steemit is a platform, an application on the top of the Steem Blockchain.

If you want to be able to vote for someone 60% then if you want to be able to vote for someone you can select all of them yourself. And you get half of the post you upvote for, and the other half you get for owning the post.

When you vote a post, you generally get 50% of the upvote as a curation reward(however, that all depends on the curation efficiency). If you publish a post, you get 50% of the post payout as a curation reward, the rest 50% of the post payout is the curation reward of all the curators who have voted the post. So the rest 50% of the post payout is shared by the curators on the basis of their influence power(SP), voting weight, voting position, curation efficiency, etc.

Voting Window

The age of a post is considered as 7 days. During these 7 days, the post receives upvotes (or down votes if any) and the net amount matures at the end of 7 days and then available for claim.

Of the 7 days, the first 5mins of the post from the time of publishing in Steem Blockchain is known as Reverse Auction, in which a linear discount of curation reward applies.

For Instance, if a curator votes at 2 mins age of the post, he gives up 60% of his curation reward, similarly if he votes at 4 mins age of a post he gives up 20% of his curation reward. At 5 mins age of a post, the curator receives 100% of his curation reward.

Thank you.
