#Achievement 2@mjoedavid Task: Basic Security on Steem
1. Have you retrieved all your keys on Steemit?
Yes and I have kept them secured.
2. Do you know each of these key functions and restrictions?
Yes I know as I read through it
Posting key
In steemit, the posting key is typically used to post anything at any time.
This key is used to post your work, as well as to assist in resteeming other people's posts, voting, and commenting.
Active key
This key is used for wallet-related tasks such as shifting steems and SDB, powering up your steems, and upgrading your profile details.
Owner key
This is a very important key that should onlybe used when absolutely required.
The owner key is used to control other keys and to access and retrieve your account.
Master key
This is the type of key that is used to obtain additional keys. With the master key, an individual can recover keys such as the posting key, private key and any key related to your STEEM account.
3. How do you plan to keep your master password?
By Printing it out and keeping it in a safe secret place. Making duplicate of it just incase the other one goes missing. And I also I have a dairy app that is passworded, have also secured my master key inside it.
4. Do you know how to transfer your Steem token to another Steem user account?
Yes I gain insight on how to transfer STEEM token after going through the educational material provided. So to transfer STEEM token, I will need to go through the following processes
Step1. After logging in to my profile, I will have to click on wallet menu
Step2. This will take me to the next interface where I will have to click on 'Steemit Wallet' coloured green
Step3. Another interface will open after this where my private login keys will be needed
Step4. After clicking on login, I will progress to the next step where I will click on Steemit with a drop-down menu. This menu pops different order types. I will select transfer since that is what I want to do
Step6. After selecting Transfer, I will be required to fill in the recipient username
And the amount I wish to transfer and click on next where you sign with your active key to validate the transfer. That's it for the transfer.
5. Do you know how to power up your STEEM?
Yes. The process is quite similar with the process of transferring STEEM token especially from step 1-3 highlighted above. But from Step 4 I will select Power up since that I intend doing
And this will take me to next phase where I will select the amount of steemit token I wish to powerup, lastly to validate my request I will have to click on Power Up.
