What is Burnsteem25 and how will it help you? Guidance for Newcomers

If you have ever run a business or maybe did any job, you'd know that everything in this world is a two way thing and it works on mutual benefit. There's nothing free out there and in order to get something you either have to sacrifice your money, time or energy. Similarly on this platform, you have to give back something as well.

There are a lot of ways to do that. For example having a strong community curation account, having more steem power etc. For that the clubs were launched. The clubs became a must on this platform. I have recently explained the clubs in detail and if you want to know more about that, you can read it by clicking the link below:

Introducing Clubs (5050, 75 and 100) for Newcomers and how is it determined

Now, if you think over it, there's nothing to lose and much to gain through this clubs initiative. By powering up, you can have more steem power in your account through which you can earn much more curation rewards. Except for that, the chances of being curated by the Steemit team also increases.

But, that's not the only catch. The most important thing associated with the clubs is the independence and the decentralisation. Currently the platform is not decentralised, even though it should be. So by having more SP in your account you can be independent of the team and can curate posts that you like. But it's a long journey of course. You can't expect to have millions of SP in a year or two.

You might be thinking whats in it for the Steemit team? Well, they want us to be independent and not solely rely on them. That was the point of this platform. To be decentralised. Apart from that, by powering up, the supply stops which in turn helps in the increment of steem's price. The issue arises when people who have been in club100, suddenly power down and leave the platform. For that, a much better solution was introduced. #burnsteem25. It was suggested by a user and then implemented by the Steemit team. But the question is, what is:

BURNSTEEM25
Before you get too scared by the word burn and steem together let me just give you a very brief explanation of what proof of burn is

There are many consensus algorithms through which a Blockchain works and one of them is proof of burn. You don't need to know about them all as a newcomer. Just know that in the proof of burn, you have to burn your crypto coins in order to get rewards.

That is EXACTLY what burnsteem25 is. You burn 25% if your payout here on steemit and it increases your chances of being curated. But not everything is related to getting better votes. Sometimes we have to look beyond it and focus on the bigger picture.

We all know that the price of steem has been very low comparatively. What's the use of earning a lot of steem if it's price is not up to the mark? Thats where burnsteem25 comes into play. Are you all aware of the supply and demand concept in any market? If you aren't, let me give you an example. An example that I face on daily basis and that I love to give over and over again.

There's a specific type of disease affecting the people in your area and the doctors are prescribing one specific drug, lets say, an antibiotic, for the treatment of that disease. The pharmacies are overly crowded with people wanting to buy that specific medicine. Soon, what will happen? The drug won't be available in the market anymore. It Becomes 'short'.
Now, people still want that medicine but now when the drug re-enters the market its price will automatically be raised. What just happened? The market availability was reduced, a scarcity was created and the price of the drug increased significantly.
The same phenomenon takes place when you burn coins. It reducess the market availability of that coin, which causes scarcity and increases its value.
I have given this example in the past as well and I have stated it here once again. I'm sure this will explain why burning steem is the need of the hour at the moment.

For the newcomers, especially, I believe it will be a good start for you if you start burning your steem from the very start. If you all take part in this cumulatively, it'll have a huge impact on the price of Steem.

But, as a newcomer, a question arises, how do we burn steem? How do we follow #burnsteem25? Lucky for you, I am making this post. Just follow the steps below and you're good to go.

when you're creating a post on Steemit, you can see an advanced settings button right above the Post button. Click on the advanced settings as shown in the picture below.

After that, add 25% to @null and then click on the save button. In this you will successfullyburn 25% of your payout and play a part towards a better future of this platform.

I am sure that I have explained everything related to burnsteem25 in a clear way and that it'd be useful for the new users as well as the users who didn't know about it.
