THE STREETS OF TAMALE 🇬🇭

Tamale is the capital of the northern region of Ghana. It is not overpopulated like other cities. The night life here in general is not that active. About 90% of the inhabitants here are Muslims. Some months ago, almost every street light in the city was quenched which made the streets very dark and almost impossible to walk through at night alone without holding your belongings with grip and constantly looking backwards and sideways whilst walking. This lead to several cases of insecurities and panic on the streets.
After several calls and plead from the natives to the local government , the mayor finally listened to our plead. The quenched bulbs have been fixed and our beautiful city is once again bright and glowing even when the moon is feeling lazy to shine on our streets.

THE AFA AJURAH MOSQUE 🕌

The Zaamigu central masjid ( Afa Ajura mosque) is a major landmark in Tamale. It is one of the oldest and most ancient major structures in Tamale. It is located in the middle of Tamale. On Friday the mosque hosts hundreds of people who attend the Friday congressional jummah prayers

POINT 7

Point 7 is also one of the oldest and most visited structures in Tamale. It is the biggest and most popular prostitutes house in Tamale. It is mostly visited by travelers or people who are non natives. Because of the severe religious and cultural extremism in this town, Point Seven is also one of the most hated business centers in Tamale. It is located in the town center but still many people do not like to open a business close to it or being associated with it in anyway. Many attempts have been made by natives to bring down this business but every attempt has been unsuccessful.
Every native in Tamale frowns at Point 7 yet it is still claimed to be the most visited site daily 😁

POINT SEVEN (Prostitutes house)

EMERJO🍷🥤😋

Emerjo is a popular corn beverage in Ghana🇬🇭. A public gathering can not be held successfully without the presence of emerjo. It can be found in almost every corner on the streets.
It is a non alcoholic corn beverage made with a fine milled fermented corn, a little bit of sugar and some flavors. To keep it chilled, some few iced blocks are dipped in it. It is served mostly with some few drops of condensed milk. Two tea cups coast about gh1 (0.04$) without milk and gh2 (0.08) with milk. It is served in a rubber with a straw dipped in it to be sipping.

KELEWELE 🍌 🧀

Kelewele is the African plantain crisps. It is the most popular night snack in Ghana 🇬🇭. It is a hot dish made with fried ripe plantain and a lot of seasoned spices, deep fried in cooking oil. It is mostly fried on a coal pot with a hip of burning charcoal. Kelewele is mostly sold by women at night on the streets. It is served hot in a plain sheet of white paper. A wrap of kelewele cost gh5(0.4$).
