Okay here we go again.

31.gif

Let us get this part out of the way first, by entering you are not declaring yourself untalented, more frustrated with steemit.

Simply write in the comment section - no need to make a post. What frustration you have and how you plan to deal with it.

  • The prize will be paid to the top voted comment in the comment section. you have to vote on each others comments, or I will choose a winner and I may be biased. (only entrants votes on each other will be counted, to counter vote buying services)

A lot of you are experiencing bandwidth issues, so I will exchange the 1sbd prize for steem, and guide you on how to invest that steem to steem power. I am also willing to spend as long as it takes talking to you on discord here https://discord.gg/bYmkPDx about how to use the market and why, also why powering up will get rid of those bandwidth problems. Knowledge is king here on steemit.

I will do contests on different subjects regarding steemit weekly. My knowledge is NOT the ultimate source, though with @goldendawne, @spiritualmax, @penderis, @davemccoy and all the other wonderful people we have on the newbieresteem discord channel, I think we can cover 100% of the ins and outs.

I have almost finished testing out the bots, I have not done all 60 plus yet though, so in the interest of giving them a fair and honest write up, I will use everyone of them before making that post. I might do a half way post with the 30 so far used in it.

This is not a rant it competition, this is a plan it competition, sure I want to hear the frustrations, I would also like to see a plan of action though.

So that is it, that simple, get writing in the comments good people, and have a fantastic week.

  • Post in conjunction with #newbieresteem, prize paid by me.
  • 1sbd at the time of writing is more than 1 steempower.

Main frustration at the moment... that if I read things tagged of what I find most interesting (philosophy) most is complete BS or plagiarized. Rants, free writes, brain farts--why do people feel the need to publicly flaunt that stuff anyway? AND! Why does this system REWARD them for it?

If you find blatant copyright issues with plagiarism, you can turn into steemcleaners. I am a firm believer in plagiarism being stopped- this goes along with my journalism degree and previous newspaper career.

steem cleaners abuse link

Generally cheetah will catch the plagiarism, but I have used this link before myself. If you get steemcleaners involved, sometimes the reward payout gets pulled.

I think the copyright madness is waaaay out of perspective.
If i write a song, and you like to sing it on your way home. I'm not going to send all the people who listened to your voice a bill do i?
When you cook your favourite dish, you don't sign the cooking pot with your mom's signature do you?
:-P Ranting for a better world!
Screw copyright
Screw patents
Screw bullshit
Throw cheetah out, let the animal be free, instead of turning it into a copyright gestapo.
LET FREEDOM BE FREE.

please...

Yes, I report a LOT of them to steemcleaners... I do try to share your belief that plagiarism should & can be stopped. But some days it's hard & overwhelming.

Yes it can.
And without people like us reporting, it would become worse. Cheetah and steemcleaners can only cover so much ground. Unfortunately abuse will be here, but the more we can stop it, maybe the less it will be visible.

I'd vote for this twice if I could (as you well know).

It´s really hard to Make people see and read what you are writing, even though I think that many people With me put alot of effort, time and love in to their/our writing and posts...and the result maybe is a couple of upvotes and in the best scenario a nice comment. And in the same time you see someone that say two words and put in one picture of a dog or a baby an gets 50 Upvotes and even more comments, it really makes me wonder....I am really not in here for the money it is not the issue, its more that its nice that someone notice if you know what I mean? peace and love 🌺❤️☮️

I was recently really upset with some of the things I saw trending on my favourite tag, #philosophy. On closer inspection, I realised that most of these posts were only getting that attention because the poster was paying at least 30 SBD per post to upvoting services. I suspect there's more of a story here, but if nothing else I know that they aren't all that great, and that most people aren't voting for them organically. Sadly, people do love to leave comments on high-earning posts - sometimes in the hope of catching a crumb from some whale's table, sometimes because they've fooled themselves into believing that a high $ value makes something noteworthy.

Yes I totally agree With you and it is sad that a lot of interesting posts that just dissapear in the giant stream of posts beacause people dont think they are ”worthy” to upvote, resteem or comment 😔 but sometimes it happens and you just stumble in to something beautiful or brilliant 💎🌺❤️☮️

Indeed! That's why I like to lurk in 'new' and see what random things come along. (Also a good way to spot spam to report to @steemcleaners for some bonus SP).

Hi sarong, you back from Thailand yet? good to see you joining in, thank you.

Hi 😊no I am still in Thailand and I am going to be here until 23/3 so all togheter 2 1/2 mounth LUCKY ME 😄 after that its back to wonder winter land in Sweden🤣😂🌺❤️☮️

Not a rant (mostly) but a plan (or the beginnings) of it.

I am frustrated with the rewards system, or maybe I'm frustrated wth the ideology that underpins it. Whatever, I'm frustrated with the fact that the best way to make any decent amount of money on Steemit is to (a) have lots of money to spend on SP, or (b) travel back in time and join in the very early days of the network.

I'm doubly frustrated when I think that an increasing number of people on Steemit actually earn very little from their day jobs (if they have one) - and they aren't even poorest and most vulnerable people in the world, because those people don't even have the required internet access and/or literacy.

Throw in that vote-buying has essentially turned the trending page into a platform for vanity publishing, and I'm suddenly very cranky!

Anyway, what I doing is thinking about what can be done within parameters of this network to address some of these things.

Warning to any fiscal conservatives or 'taxation-is-theft' types out there, I'm about utter one of the most offensive phrases known to self-interested capitalists everywhere: Income redistribution.

My idea: Have a voluntary collective of steemians where everyone puts a set percentage - say 10% - of their weekly SBD earnings into 'the pot'. That total amount of SBD is then divided equally amongst all members. I'm not going to clutter up the comment with the maths of it, but basically high earners get back less than their 10%, and low earners get back more than their 10%. (I think it would be best to not redistribute earned SP, as having people with high SP in something like this) is important.

The exact rules of such a setup will need to address problems with scammers and cheats, as well as having too many members that earn too little. So you need rigorous registration requirements. Real repercussions for scams and plagiarism (collective downvotes, exclusion etc.) would be essential. Fraud or hiding of income could not be tolerated. Minimum activity levels would be important, but I'm not sure how to deal with questions of quality control. My feeling is that setting a minimum agreed quality of contributions is possible, but would change the nature of the organisation.

You also need to make sure people understand that the more everyone earns, the more they get from the scheme. Thus it's in the interest of lower-earning members to upvote each other - and collect the curation form the posts from their highest earners. It's also in the interest of the highest earners to get the earnings and SP of the lower-earners as high as possible. This would almost certainly involve education and mentoring, as well as a bit of strategic voting.

For someone clever enough to code and administer all of this, there are real advantages. You could make voting for a certain witness a membership requirement (as at least one of the PAL groups has). Again - benefit increases benefit - the more the SP of the group rises, the more their witness votes count and the higher the recipient of them rises.

There are some other complications, such how to deal with vote-buying. I.e.: If I grossed 10 SBD, but spent 9 SBD to earn it, I'm not going to want to give up my remaining money to the collective that week.

Anyway, it's not well-developed, and it might be impossible. But my longer-term plan is to do some reading about how this might work, and see if I could make it happen.

Hm wow that post really makes the Brain spin, especially when english is not my language, but I really really tried to get you in your thoughts, and I think I did at the end and I think its beautiful and you are defenitly on to something...but one question I come to think about is that a lot of steemians write in other language..and there Is a lot of post that you miss that way and never can upvote, and if you have a ”small” language that are not used by so many steemians how can they be a part of the system? Of Course We are a lot of people out there like me that understand and can write in english so atleast someone can have chance to read and understand what We are writing about..and We can understand a lot of the posts here..but still its many that can´t..or maybe thats not a problem? Maybe I just see a problem that are not existing. Good post and nice thinking anyway keep on the good work and brainstorming 🌺❤️☮️

You have a good point,
once steemit gains more people of smaller countries then those languages can form their own communities.
So in a way you could become the pioneer to form a community for your own language.
Maybe you are already doing this.
I live in a small country (about 16 million people) and I found a community all_dutch that focusses on my native language, and i also see people from other countries who speak the same language. Dutch and Belgian people, but also people from, Aruba, Bonaire, Curaco, St. Maarten, and South Africa.

What is your language Sarong? How many people world wide are able to speak your language?

My language are swedish so maybe 9-10 million people speak swedish, but a lot of danish and norweigan people can understand the swedish language.
And of course it should be more easy to write in my own language, it easier to put fealings into the words ( ha ha 😂 and you should know that even the autocorection works against Me ), but on the other hand I think that one of the nice things about steemit is the connection With people around the world and see things from another perspective dont you think?..but I Will look around just for fun if I can find any swedes around here 😜🌺❤️☮️

That my friend, is the single most constructive and well written semi rant I did ever come across.

Right now my frustration is that I need to go to sleep so I can get up early. Will write something more substantial in the morning.

SO true! I have a notebook of ideas, a file full of pictures I took... then when I sit down to write... I do more steemit tasks and hardly leave myself enough time to write out my posts. I am very organized (OCD to the max) so I just need to sit and write.

Good luck!

Thank you for the mention @deliberator

Good luck to everyone entering the contest.... my frustration? Has to do with the set up and organization of the platform and website. I wish it had a way to categories resteems, upvotes and favorite members to follow.

My rant today is why do some people feel the need to have a superiority complex.
It is the weak and the new who needs help not those who are already writing well and have their audience.
I don't get it when you want to cull the socalled "garbage" if you think they are "garbage" what are you doing to help them get better?
Or is mere lip service

thats how money made the elite i guess?
and how the elite make money. :-s
money is the same everywhere... Now lets wait until they start to fear us and demand for surveillance tools

@Haejin

Flag that fucker.

That is the idea, let's see how low he can go :-).

I would love to move up from rep 39, where I have been stuck since Noah fell off the ark! My plan of action is to post my own stuff more, hopefully this is the way to go? I'm working on it, just need two more hours in each day.
Also desperate to increase my voting power, so will enlist the help of one of the angels in newbieresteem to help me move stuff in my wallet to the right place. At the same time will ask for an explanation as to why my upvote means $0 one minute, and the next gives $0.01?

Regarding rep, just keep writing :) I had some big jumps from having @curie upvote me, though if you can plough enough money through something like @buildawhale, you can raise your reputation quite quickly. That's not what I've done - not enough spare cash (or indeed any spare cash, lol). But I have seen some people get to a rep of 65 in about a six weeks by spending about 200 SBD per day. In this case, that's the only way they would ever get that far, as they post the most appalling and self-indulgent tosh.

The dollar value of your vote fluctuates depending on the US Dollar value of Steem. When Steem is high, your vote is worth more. Same thing happens with pending post payouts due to movements in the price of Steem Dollars. I once watched my post payout drop by $20 over a week as the cryptocurrency had a 'correction'.

Thanks for the advice @samueldouglas. Unfortunately I don't have spare cash either, will jack up my writing. I'm just strapped for time like most of us I think. Appreciate the explanation!
